Doucal's Size Guide

Doucal's is an artisanal men's footwear brand Made in Italy. The brand states that its fit is roomier than the market standard: for this reason, unless you have a wide foot, it is almost always advisable to go down half a size. Read the note before choosing your size.

How Doucal's shoes fit

  • They run wide and slightly large. This is an official statement from the brand. If you are between sizes or have a regular/narrow foot, choose half a size smaller than your usual size.
  • Comfortable fit: those with wider feet will generally find the right comfort in their usual size.
  • Leather that adapts: these are handmade shoes; the leather gives and moulds slightly with wear, so there is no need to leave extra room.
  • Loafers: without laces, they should fit snugly around the instep. If they slip at the heel, go down half a size.
  • Many styles are also available in half sizes: use them for the most precise fit.

Measure your foot (the most reliable method)

  1. At the end of the day, place your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, wearing a thin sock.
  2. Mark the tip of the longest toe and measure the heel-to-toe distance in centimetres.
  3. If your feet are different sizes, use the measurement of the longer foot.
  4. Compare the centimetres with the 'Foot length' column in the table below.
