Round Up Dusty Rose Set of 2 White Wine Glasses
The shape of a wine glass is not just aesthetic: it changes where the wine reaches the palate and how much aroma is released. Here you'll find bowls for red wine, those for white wine, and universal glasses, all in hand-blown lead-free crystal.
Which bowl for which wine
- Bordeaux - tall, wide bowl: for tannic, structured reds.
- Burgundy - wide, rounded bowl: for delicate, aromatic reds.
- White - narrower bowl: maintains the temperature and concentrates fresh notes.
- Universal glass - the compromise that works for white, red and sparkling wines: if you want just one, this is it.
The stem is not an affectation
It keeps your hand away from the bowl: the warmth of your palm heats the wine within minutes, and you notice it immediately with a white. That's why you should always hold a wine glass by the stem, and why stemless glasses are convenient but not suited to tasting.
The rest of the table
On the same table, you'll find sparkling wine glasses, carafes and decanters, and crystal glasses. All the signed crystalware is in NUDE, and the complete selection is in the home section.
Frequently asked questions
How many types of wine glass do you really need at home?
Two are almost always enough: a wide bowl for reds and a narrower one for whites and sparkling wines. Those who want to simplify further can choose a single glass designed to handle both. Specific sets - Bordeaux, Burgundy, tasting - make sense when wine is a passion, not an accompaniment.
How much wine do you pour into a wine glass?
Up to the widest point of the bowl, never beyond: above that line, the wine has no room to release its aromas and the glass becomes uncomfortable to swirl. In practice, fill one third of the glass for a fine red and slightly less for a white.
Is thin crystal more fragile?
Not as much as you might think. The glasses from NUDE's thinnest lines are treated to withstand daily use, and you can feel the difference at the rim: the thinner it is, the less it comes between the wine and your mouth. True fragility comes from washing them in the dishwasher alongside other pieces that knock against them.
How do you wash long-stemmed wine glasses?
By hand, holding the bowl rather than the stem - the twisting between the two is where they break. Dry them immediately with a linen cloth that leaves no lint, and store them upright: hanging them by the foot puts strain on them, while storing them upside down marks the rim.
