Vogue World arrives in Italy for the first time on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at 8 p.m., in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. It is the fifth edition of the show that Vogue brings to a different city every year, and it falls on the evening of the first day of Milan Fashion Week. The theme is “Where The Future Is Made By Hand”: the handmade future, meaning Italian craftsmanship set against new technologies, including artificial intelligence. It will be streamed live worldwide.
What is Vogue World, in two lines
It is not a runway show, even though models and clothes take the stage. It is a tableau-style spectacle, a series of theatrical acts with choreography, music and performances, using fashion to tell a story. Anna Wintour conceived it in 2022, and since then it has travelled to four cities: New York, where it began, followed by London at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Paris in Place Vendôme and Los Angeles at the Paramount studios. Milan is the fifth stop, and it is the first time Vogue World has left the circuit of Anglo-Saxon and French capitals to come to Italy.
Why the Galleria
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, between the Duomo and La Scala, is what Milanese people call the city's living room, and for one evening it becomes a stage. The choice is linked to the theme: beneath that glass-and-iron vault, the great fashion houses, historic shops, bookshops and cafés where the history of Milanese taste was made have coexisted for a century and a half. Behind the scenes
The evening is organised by Condé Nast with Vogue, together with the Municipality of Milan. The creative direction is by Juan Costa Paz of Convoy studio; fashion direction is entrusted to Lady Amanda Harlech; curation to Judith Clark, who teaches at the University of the Arts London; and executive production to Marco Balich's Balich Wonder Studios, which has produced several Olympic ceremonies. The programme mentions “surprise guests”, and none have been announced yet.
Pinko and the Galleria community
There is a detail that concerns us closely. In thanking those who make the evening possible, Vogue names the fashion houses and venues in the Galleria one by one: alongside Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior and Giorgio Armani is Pinko, together with historic establishments such as Camparino, Savini and Biffi restaurant. Pinko is not showing, but it is part of the community that transforms the Galleria into Vogue's stage for one evening.

The fundraiser
Vogue World also began as a fundraising event, and since 2022 it has donated several million to charitable organizations. In Milan, proceeds will go to the Quarto Oggiaro Library, in the northwestern suburbs: a way to take the week's most glamorous evening beyond the city center.
