A men's cardholder should be chosen according to the pocket it will go into, and there are three: the inside jacket pocket, the front jeans pocket, and the back pocket. These are three different needs, and anyone who makes the wrong choice ends up with a beautiful object they never use.

The pocket determines the model

Inside jacket pocket. This is where a slim leather cardholder works best, even in a vertical format. It does not need to withstand pressure or bending: it only needs to stay flat, and leather is the right choice because it makes no noise and cannot be felt through the fabric.

Front jeans pocket. A compact shape and rounded edges, because the fabric presses against the object all day. Aluminum models with an external elastic strap work perfectly here: they slide out with one hand and the cards stay in place.

Back pocket. This is where aluminum is almost essential. You sit on it, and a soft leather cardholder with six cards inside will have taken the shape of the chair after three months. The two rigid plates, on the other hand, provide protection - and that is precisely the problem they solve.

Automatic, MagSafe, or simple

What are the dimensions of a men's card holder?

The standard format follows the credit card - approximately 8.5 × 5.4 cm - with a few millimetres of margin: in practice, between 9 and 10 cm wide. The thickness ranges from a few millimetres for simple models to just over a centimetre for aluminium models with an elastic band.

Can a card holder be kept in the back pocket?

Yes, but it is best to choose a rigid one. In soft leather, with the weight of the body on top, it develops a permanent curve after a few months and the cards bend. Models with aluminium plates are designed specifically for this use and protect the cards from bending.

What is the difference between a card holder and a document holder?

They are two different items despite their similar names. The card holder holds bank cards and other cards in that format and fits in a pocket.
