Milan Fashion Week, from September 22 to 28, 2026, can also be experienced without an invitation. Almost all the shows are streamed, Vogue World can be watched live on Tuesday evening, the «Dalí e la Moda» exhibition opens at Palazzo Reale on Thursday 24, and the Arlecchino cinema screens for two days the films that shaped the history of fashion. The best part is that almost everything is within a ten-minute walk of the Duomo.

Tuesday evening: Vogue World live
On Tuesday 22 at 8 p.m., the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II becomes the stage for Vogue World, the show Vogue brings to a different city every year and which is coming to Italy for the first time. The theme is Italian craftsmanship alongside new technologies. You can watch it streamed on Vogue's channels, making it the best way to start the week from the sofa, with a glass in hand. The exhibition: «Dalí e la Moda» at Palazzo Reale
This is the week's must-see event open to everyone, and it remains open until January 31, 2027. More than two hundred paintings, drawings, photographs, garments, films and jewels tell the story, for the first time, of the relationship between Salvador Dalí and fashion: how much the painter influenced designers, and how much fashion helped him build his persona. The works come from the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation in Figueres, the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Reina Sofía in Madrid, along with archive materials from Schiaparelli, Chanel, Dior and Rabanne. The exhibition is curated by Bea Crespo and Lucia Moni.
Anyone familiar with the story knows why Schiaparelli is featured: it was with her that Dalí created some of the twentieth century's most famous garments in the 1930s, from the lobster dress to the shoe hat. Seeing how a surrealist idea becomes a dress is reason enough to visit.

Our recommendation: go on Thursday evening, when the exhibition remains open until 10:30 p.m. You can go in after work and come out into the illuminated Piazza del Duomo.
The cinema: Cinemoda at the Arlecchino
On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September, Cineteca Milano Arlecchino, at via San Pietro all'Orto 9, hosts the second edition of Cinemoda, a series promoted by Vogue Italia and the Cineteca exploring the relationship between cinema and fashion. Eleven films and one talk over two days, from great classics to documentaries. These are the times we have noted:
- Friday 11:00 a.m. — Belle de Jour by Buñuel, 1967: Catherine Deneuve dressed by Yves Saint Laurent
- Friday 5:00 p.m. — conversation with Chiara Mastroianni, the series' patron, and Gian Luca Farinelli, its artistic director
- Friday 8:15 p.m. — Marc by Sofia, Sofia Coppola's documentary on Marc Jacobs
- Friday 10:15 p.m. — Suspiria by Dario Argento
- Saturday 10:45 a.m. — Fellini's Otto e mezzo
- Saturday 5:00 p.m. — Yves Saint Laurent, tout terriblement
- Saturday 10:15 p.m. — Paris, Texas by Wenders

The shows, from your phone
The shows are invitation-only, but almost all are streamed live on the fashion houses' channels and on the digital platform of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. If you can follow only three, we would watch these: Prada, Tuesday at 2 p.m., because it opens the week; Emporio Armani, Thursday at 8 p.m., because it is one of the brands we sell and tells us what will arrive in store next spring; and the new Moschino, Friday at 5 p.m., because it is the week's most anticipated debut.
A day on foot, between the Duomo and Montenapoleone
If you are in Milan on Thursday 24, the day plans itself. Start in the morning at Palazzo Reale, in Piazza del Duomo. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is just a few steps away. From there, cross toward via Montenapoleone and via della Spiga, the fashion district. In the evening, return to the piazza, or watch the Emporio Armani show streamed live. On Friday and Saturday, add the Arlecchino, which is right there, between San Babila and Montenapoleone.
What to wear for exploring Milan in late September
The Milanese rule for late September: leave in the morning wearing a jacket, and by seven in the evening wish it were heavier. Comfortable shoes come first, because Fashion Week is done on foot, along with a layer you can take off and put back on.
