Dr. Martens is the British footwear brand founded in 1960 in Wollaston, England: yellow stitching, AirWair soles, and a rebellious spirit. Dr. Martens Platform: Jadon and Sinclair

The Jadon has a 4.7 cm platform and an inner ankle zipper. The Sinclair sits on a 4 cm Quad sole and has a removable front zip. All styles with a high sole, including the Molly and the Chelsea 2976 with a platform, are on the Dr. Martens platform page.

Production and Features

DM production still follows the 1960 method. The Goodyear welt is stitched and heat-sealed to the upper: this is where the signature yellow stitching comes from. The AirWair air-cushioned sole is patented; the heel loop with the AirWair logo is the mark of authenticity. Platform styles feature the taller, sculpted Quad sole. The sturdy leather molds with wear: every pair becomes unique.

The Brand Story

The story dates back to 1945, when German doctor Klaus Märtens invented an air-cushioned sole to recover from a skiing injury. In 1959, the British Griggs family acquired the license. On April 1, 1960, the legendary 1460 boot was born: the number refers to the date, 1-4-60. Today, the brand is distributed in over 60 countries.
