Vogue World comes to Italy for the first time on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. It’s the fifth edition of the show Vogue brings to a different city each year, and takes place on the evening of the first day of Milan Fashion Week. The theme is “Where The Future Is Made By Hand”: the handmade future, bringing Italian craftsmanship together with new technologies, including artificial intelligence. It will be streamed live around the world.
What is Vogue World? In brief
It is not a fashion show, even if it features models and clothes. It is a theatrical spectacle, a series of acts with choreography, music, and performances that uses fashion to tell a story. L was conceived by Anna Wintour in 2022, and since then it has visited four cities: New York, where it began, then London at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Paris at Place Vendôme, and Los Angeles at Paramount Studios. Milan is the fifth stop, and the first time Vogue World has left the Anglo-Saxon and French capitals circuit to come to Italy.
Why the Galleria
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, between the Duomo and La Scala, is what Milanese people call the city’s living room, and for one evening it becomes a stage. The choice ties in with the theme: beneath its glass and iron vault, for a century and a half, great fashion houses, historic shops, bookshops and cafés have coexisted, shaping the history of Milanese taste. Here, the handmade future already has a past.
Who’s behind it
The evening is organized by Condé Nast with Vogue, together with the City of Milan. Creative direction is by Juan Costa Paz of Convoy studio; fashion direction is entrusted to Lady Amanda Harlech; curation to Judith Clark, who teaches at the University of the Arts London; and executive production to Marco Balich’s Balich Wonder Studios, behind several Olympic ceremonies. The program mentions “surprise guests,” but no one has announced who they are yet.

The fundraiser
Vogue World was also created as a fundraising event, and since 2022 it has donated several million to charitable organizations. In Milan, the funds raised will go to the Quarto Oggiaro Library in the north-western suburbs: a way to bring the week’s most glamorous evening beyond the city center.
