In December, some of the best-selling items in our boutique are those that don’t require guessing a size: document holders, hats, wallets, scarves, and belts. This selection for him starts there and adds niche fragrances and crystal whisky glasses. If you don’t know his taste, there’s a gift card.

What’s in this selection

Almost everything you see is one size: wallets and cardholders, key rings, beanies and scarves, ready-made sets, fragrances, whisky glasses, and bottles. Where size matters, as with belts, we only stock styles available in multiple sizes.

Belts: how to get the size right

For Levi’s men’s belts, the size is in centimeters and is four inches above your jeans size: if you wear a W32, choose a 90. This doesn’t apply to every brand, so check the size on each belt’s product page. If you don’t want to take a chance, Orciani’s Nobuckle is one size and adjusts with a sliding ring from 42 to 56. The other styles are in men’s belts.

Fragrance, if you don’t know his skin

Niche fragrances aren’t created for a specific gender, and the same bottle smells different on different skin. We recommend starting with what you’ve already smelled on him: if he wears something woody, stick to woody fragrances, with cedar, sandalwood, and vetiver; if he needs a fragrance for the office, aromatic fragrances with lavender and sage are the easiest choice. Don’t choose one just because you like it. Fragrances and creams can only be returned if still sealed.

Boyfriend, husband, colleague

For a boyfriend, choose something he uses every day: a cardholder if his current wallet is worn at the edges, or a fragrance from a family he already knows. For a husband, sets also take care of the wrapping: a scarf and beanie together, or a whisky set with the bottle and glasses. A leather key ring is enough for a colleague. For a birthday, the rule is the same: something he uses every day and is unlikely to buy for himself.

What we’re less inclined to give

Shoes and clothing, if you don’t know his size: feet don’t forgive mistakes, and men’s clothing fits differently from brand to brand, even in the same size. If the gift has to be clothing, ask someone who knows his size, or choose a gift card.

Gift wrapping and returns

In your cart, under “Add Packaging,” you can add the boutique’s Gift Wrapping: a Vittorio Citro bag, a scented ribbon for the bow, and two logo envelope seals. This is a paid service: you’ll see the cost in your cart. In Italy, returns are free within 30 days of delivery, and the first size or color exchange is free, subject to availability. If you’re not sure what to choose, the gift card is sent by email and is valid for one year.
